If someone asked you right now, “Are you happy?” how would you answer? “Are you living a joyful life?” What would you say? Truly, what would you say?
Maybe the answer would probably be no and I’m basing that off of conversations that I’ve had with people in my life. Maybe pessimism is sinking in and saying, “Well what even is happiness and joy? Can you ever really experience them?” Well this post is to tell you yes! I’m a living witness.
Happiness and joy. It’s like when you have a headache and take an aspirin to get rid of the pain. How do you know when the headache is gone? Right, when you no longer feel the pain of said headache. Did you have a headache? Of course you did because you felt it and lived it, but now it’s gone and now you’re experiencing feeling healthy and well. Think about that with joy and happiness. I’ve gone through a period of depression in my life and I remember all too well what that felt like- kind of like a headache. No one has to tell you that you have a headache because you can feel it like no one had to tell me that I was depressed because I felt it. The place where I’m at in life now, I don’t feel the same feelings and have the same attitudes that I once had. The absence of these things lets me know that I’m currently living in happiness and joy. No one can tell me this, no book can break it down for me, this is something that I have to know for myself, and I do.
How can I ensure that I continue living in joy and happiness? That’s easy. I think back and remember what that “headache” felt like and all the feelings associated with it. This has to be the fuel that drives us to living happy lives. I rejoice in the fact that I’m no longer captive to that “headache.” That’s why you should adopt the Starr Life. If we want to get out of dark places and stay out of them, it just takes a shift in our minds, hearts, attitudes, and actions. We are naturally always looking for ways to stay comfortable in life so I challenge everyone who may be experiencing negative feelings in life to push out of your comfort zone and reach for the stars. Things that have happened to us, people who have hurt us, it's comfortable to continue living in that pain and resentment and difficult to put ourselves higher to release those things. I hope for every person still feeling stuck due to whatever, I hope that they get to a place where they are fed up with it and soften their hearts to receive the better things that life had for them.
That's why I write The Starr Life; I want this for everyone. It hurts my heart to see so many people hurting when if they just changed a few simple things, life would completely turn around for them. That’s why the Starr Life. I write to encourage you and others to push the limits of your thinking and facilitate change in your own life. I invite everyone to join in and let’s change our worlds- literally and metaphorically- together.
